3rd DWI arrest for man driving with infant

Thibodaux, La. - A 24-year-old man, driving with an infant in his car, has been charged arrested for his third DWI. Thibodaux Chief of Police Scott Silverii has identified the driver as Christopher Williams of Napoleonville. In addition to the 3rd DWI charge, Williams is also facing charges of Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Thibodaux Police Officers were called to the Walmart parking lot Friday night around 11pm after a witness reported a 1989 maroon Oldsmobile swerving in the roadway on LA 20. The witness led police to the Walmart parking lot where Williams was parked and sleeping.

Williams, who had five 16oz Budweiser beers on the passenger seat and an open beer between his legs, had an infant inside of the vehicle in a car seat. Williams was placed under arrest after failing a field sobriety test. Williams had a blood alcohol level .164g%.

Williams was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he is held in lieu of $20,150 bond.
