New Orleans, La. -
Former Public Belt General Manager Jim Bridger now faces state ethics charges.
Bridger was the focus of a series of FOX 8 investigations that eventually led to his pleading guilty in federal and state court.
The charges against Bridger concern his use of the Belt's rail cars, their entertainment trains, for personal use. The Board of Ethics says Bridger took nine personal trips on the cars, at a total cost of about $10,000.
The board says those trips violated a part of the Ethics Code that says a public official cannot take anything of economic value, other than pay and benefits.
This could result in a fine against Bridger -- that will be up to a three-judge panel that will hear the case.
