UPDATE: Progress in restoring power in Louisiana, Miss.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Power companies report progress in restoring electricity to their Louisiana customers more than four days after Hurricane Isaac's landfall led to more than 900,000 losing power.

As of 7am Monday, Louisiana's largest power provider, Entergy Corp., reports there are 128,710 customers still without power around the state. The parish with the most residents affected is Jefferson Parish with 62,541 customers without power.

The company has drawn criticism from residents and some public officials for the pace of restoration.

Cleco Corp, reports only 62 customers without power Monday morning in St. Tammany Parish, 9 in St. Mary Parish and 2 in Washington Parish.

In Mississippi, Entergy reported more than 2,000 outages Sunday evening; and, an association of not-for-profit electricity providers in Mississippi reported about 1,783 outages Sunday evening.
