Cynthia Willard-Lewis will not be able to run for the city's District "E" council seat.

Civil District Judge Sidney Cates ruled Wednesday in favor of petitioners, who said that Willard-Lewis could not legally run for the seat.  She has already served two consecutive terms on the council.

Also Wednesday, Judge Kern Reese threw out a suit challenging Austin Badon's bid for the seat, which was left vacant by Jon Johnson's resignation.  Badon called the challenge, which cited an ethics fine, a weak and frivolous attempt to get him out of the race.

Tuesday, Judge Paula Brown dismissed a suit challenging James Gray's residency, so he too remains in the District "E" race.
