LSU Tigers earn weekly honors after Washington blowout

Baton Rouge, La. - LSU dominated Washington 41-3 on Saturday and has earned high mark from the pundits.

True freshman cornerback Jalen Mills had seven tackles and an interception to earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors.  Junior defensive end Sam Montgomery had four tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and a sack to earn SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week.

Mills and Montgomery contributed to a defensive effort that held the Huskies to just 183 yards of offense and 12 first downs.

As for the team, they jumped USC for the second spot in the Coaches' poll and maintained the third spot in the Associated Press poll.  FOX8 Reporter and AP Voter Garland Gillen voted the Tigers #2 behind Alabama this week.
