Houma police investigating shooting at mobile home park

Houma, La – Houma Police detectives are investigating a shooting at a mobile home park. The incident occurred on August 23, just before 11:00 p.m. in the 1200 block of Memory Lane.

Police say that an altercation involving several women took place at the mobile home park. As the incident escalated, a man exited a black Chrysler 300 with a handgun and began firing towards the women. Another man, who police later identified as 20-year-old Jordan Williams, also presented a handgun and began firing towards the crowd.

Detectives learned that four mobile homes and a parked vehicle were struck by bullets. A man who was in his nearby trailer was also struck in the thigh area. He was treated on the scene and later released, according to police.

On Thursday, police made contact with Williams and arrested him. He was charged with one count of attempted second degree murder, four counts of aggravated criminal damage to property and one count of simple criminal damage to property.

Police continue to search for the second gunman. Detectives believe that he is from the New Orleans area. Detectives also believe that he goes by the nickname "Chuckie" with the possible first name of Charles.
