Plaquemines Parish, La.- Police have arrested 29-year-old Billy Saunier for two residential looting cases that occurred in the Port Sulphur area during Hurricane Isaac.
On September 2nd, a District 2 Patrol Unit observed a possible stolen piece of equipment while patrolling the 300 block of Caroline Drive in Port Sulphur.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for 331 Caroline Drive and upon executing the search warrant, recovered property that was stolen from two reported Port Sulphur residential lootings. Saunier, commonly referred to as 'Billy Rojas', was identified as the suspect.
Saunier is charged with two counts of looting and one count of felony theft. The combined value of items seized is valued at approximately $6,000.
Saunier turned himself into police on September 13th. Additional charges are expected to be filed.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives are attempting to identify the owners of the stolen property that was recovered.
