Jefferson Parish sheriff's detectives are seeking information about the deaths of a man found in a Harvey field and another man shot once in the chest inside his garage two miles away.more>>

Jefferson Parish, La – Members of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department's Traffic Division are investigating an fatal accident involving a vehicle and pedestrian. The accident occurred Monday around 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of Veterans Blvd. and Green Acres Rd. The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Joseph Truch.

Police say that Philip Chopin III was traveling eastbound on Veterans Blvd. when he struck Truch, who was walking in the left hand lane. Truch was transported to University Hospital where he died from his injuries around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Chopin was not cited. The investigation into the accident continues.
