Superdome - The Saints got off to a quick start and had the Chiefs on the ropes in the third quarter with a score of 24-6.  But that's where the wheels fell off.

"You're up 18 points late in the third and you've got all of the momentum on your side, you just got two huge turnovers," Drew Brees said after the game.  "You've got to hand it to them though, they rattle off that 91 yard run and then it just felt like the momentum swung to their side and they kept it the entire game.  Obviously, offensively, we've got to find away to get it back."

"Offensively, you want to get some first downs and keep your defense off the field," wide receiver Lance Moore said.  "We had the ball on our three yard line, get a drive going, kick a field goal, and the game is over but, you know, we've just got to make plays."

"We got out of rhythm, we weren't executing at the same level as we were earlier, whatever that reason is, we'll find out," Interim Coach Aaron Kromer said.  "We were obviously out of rhythm and doing the same things and we didn't play well enough to score."

Kansas City's offense dominated the ground game in the second half, led by running back Jamal Charles' 196 yards in the period.

"Obviously we have to do better against the run," Kromer said.  "We didn't run the ball well enough and they ran the ball.  We need to get that fixed."

Drew Brees had his first game with less than 300 passing yards since October of last season and sees plenty of room for improvement in his game "There's been a little bit of a common theme here in the last couple weeks.  We've got to find a way to move the ball, get open, get guys the ball, run the ball, convert on third downs, put ourselves in good situations, and possess the ball so we don't keep our defense out there forever like we did in the second half of the game today.  We need to take a hard look at that tape."

Brees was sacked four times, including one for a safety.  Right tackle Zach Strief felt deeply responsible for the team's loss afterwards "I've never been in this situation, that's a game that you fear as a lineman.  I had no answers and I think I really gave us no chance to get anything going."
