Man jumps from Luling Bridge, dies

St. Charles Parish, La.- Police say both sides of the I-310 Luling Bridge have been re-opened after someone jumped off the railing around 9:50 a.m. Friday.

The victim is idenitified as 53-year-old Pedro Paez of Kenner.

An officer crossing the Luling Bridge noticed a vehicle stopped at the top of the bridge and as he approached the vehicle, Paez jumped on to the railing of the bridge. 

The officer attempted to talk Paezdown for several minutes, but he jumped.

Paez's body was immediately recovered by river boat traffic in the area.
