NOPD: 11 arrested in prostitution sting

New Orleans, La. - New Orleans Police made 11 arrests after conducting a 3-day prostitution sting in New Orleans East and Mid-City neighborhoods.

The operation got underway after detectives as well as residents noticed a recent uptick in the crime in the 6000-block of Chef Menteur Highway and on Tulane Avenue from South Galvez Street to South Jeff Davis Parkway.    

On September 19th, detectives went undercover on Tulane Avenue and arrested 2 suspected prostitutes.

45-year-old Dwayne Johnson

21-year-old Tory Smith

September 20th, detectives conducted another undercover sting, this time on Chef Highway.  Those arrested included:

18-year-old Lorne Patterson of Memphis, TN

24-year-old Keesha McClinton of Memphis, TN

20-year-old Desirea Williams of Memphis, TN

22-year-old Shandraka Mobley of Memphis, TN

28-year-old Jennivia Williams of Jackson, MS

The next sting happened on September 24th.  Detectives that day worked both Chef Highway and the Tulane Avenue areas.  Shandraka Mobley and Jennivia Williams- who were arrested the previous week - were arrested a second time.  Others picked-up for prostitution that day included:

20-year-old Detonsha McKinnie

45-year-old Rhonda Szekely

44-year-old Wendy Melgar

24-year-old Bryant Dobard
