Isaac victims face unemployment assistance deadline

Baton Rouge, LA. - Hurricane Isaac victims in nine parishes have just one more day left to apply for disaster unemployment assistance.

People facing the October 2 application deadline include anyone who lived or worked in Saint John, Lafourche, Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, Saint Bernard, Ascension, Livingston and Saint Tammany Parishes. 

People in Saint Charles and Tangipahoa parishes have until Friday, October 5 to apply for the help.

People in Saint James, Terrebonne, Washington, Saint Mary, Assumption, Iberville and Saint Helena have until Monday, October 8 to apply.

Anyone who was out of work because of the storm may be eligible for benefits.
