Houma, La. - A Houma man, who reportedly was trying to fund his drug addiction, was arrested in connection with an armed robbery of an elderly couple that occurred.

Terrebonne Sheriff Jerry Larpenter says a Crimestoppers tip led to the arrest of 24-year-old Todd Boquet, Jr. in connection with the hold-up that happened in March of 2012. In that holdup, Boquet reportedly threatened the couple with a rifle outside their Bayou Black home on Linda Lee Court back in March of 2012.

Following the Crimestoppers tip, detectives picked up Boquet and questioned him over the armed robbery. According to Larpenter, Boquet admitted that he met the elderly couple at a church function and planned the robbery in an attempt to support his drug addiction.

Boquet has been charged with one count of armed robbery. His bond was set at $100,000.
