New Orleans, La. - The Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for an escaped inmate.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's office says Rubin Martin escaped from the Temporary Housing Center or "tents" at approximately 3:05 this morning.
Martin is described as a 6-foot, 2-inches, 180-pound, African-American male.
Martin is in custody for simple burglary.
The Sheriff's Office has initiated a search for inmate Martin and notified the New Orleans Police Department, the Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office and other law enforcement agencies.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of inmate Martin should call the Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office at 504-827-8505.
