New Orleans, La. - The Avondale company suing the controversial River Birch landfill thinks new information that has surfaced since it filed its original lawsuit will help its case.
In March, Concrete Busters of Louisiana accused River Birch of colluding with the Jefferson Parish administration. It filed a lawsuit in New Orleans, alleging former Parish President Aaron Broussard and his administration "hijacked the request for proposals and expanded it." The lawsuit sought $7.5 million in damage.
In a recent amendment to the company's petition for damages, the company suggests racketeering is involved. The amendment cites a list of indictments since the original lawsuit was filed, including one against Broussard.
