Fire Investigators: Fatal Grand Isle fire may have accidentally been started

Baton Rouge, La - Fire investigators believe that a fire that claimed the lives of two in Grand Isle, was started by smoking practices. The fire occurred around 9:30 p.m. on September 27, 2012 in the Willow Creek Apartments on Highway 1. The fire killed 46-year-old Timothy Foret and 60-year-old Belle Brandi.

Louisiana State Fire Marshall Butch Browning tells FOX 8 that investigators believe that this fire was not started by natural causes. Investigators believe that smoking may have lead to the fire.

Browning also states that construction equipment was also stored on the bottom floor of the two-story building.
