The band had been set to perform on October 27, headlining the second night of the huge musical festival in New Orleans. But Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong checked into a treatment substance facility in September, and there was some doubt about whether the band would continue with the Voodoo performance.
Armstrong entered the facility shortly after the 40-year-old performer had a meltdown onstage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Sept. 21. As Green Day was wrapping up its performance during the all-star, two-day concert, Armstrong profanely complained that the band's time was being cut short.
Armstrong smashed his guitar before leaving the stage.
