FOX 8 News wins two National Edward R. Murrow Awards

FOX 8 News is honored to announce that our staff has received two 2012 National Edward R. Murrow Awards.

The Radio Television Digital News Association held its annual ceremony in New York Monday night to recognize excellence in journalism across the country.

FOX 8 won in the Video-Continuing Coverage category for Lee Zurik's "Behind the Badge" investigation into former Plaquemines Parish Sheriff Jiff Hingle and businessman Aaron Bennett.

Lee's "Swiped" investigation, which focused on abuse of government-issued credit cards, won in the Video-News Series category.

Congrats to Lee and his investigative team, which includes Donny Pearce, Greg Phillips and Marcy Planer.

FOX 8 has won three National Murrow Awards over the past two years.
