Two men arrested in St. Bernard armed robbery

Chalmette, La. - St. Bernard Police arrested two men after they attempted to rob a man believed to be a drug dealer.

18-year-old Jordan Jones of New Orleans and 24-year-old Michael Ford of Chalmette were arrested just after 3 p.m. Saturday. They were spotted by police and fled on foot but were later captured.

According to Sheriff James Pohlman, "Two guns, one of them reported stolen, and more than 200 dollars allegedly taken from a man on Violet street were recovered." The release continues, "Jones was also booked with possession of a stolen gun and both were also booked with flight from officers."

No one was injured but Jones fired his weapon in the air to scare the victim.

The suspects later confessed they targeted the victim because he was believed to be a drug dealer. No drugs were recovered and there was no evidence of drugs to make any arrests.

Both men are being held in St. Bernard Parish prison without bond.
