New Orleans, La. - Police are investigating the shooting death of a 34-year-old man just after 11 p.m. Saturday in the St. Bernard Area.
Police say that responding officers discovered the man lying on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of Lafreniere Street with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police also found three women, each with one gunshot wound. A 25-year-old woman suffered a wound to the wrist, a 22-year-old woman was wounded in her leg and an unidentified woman was shot in her shoulder.
All names are being withheld until family members can be notified. The incident is still under investigation.
According to police, a 4-door Chrysler Sebring with tinted windows was seen leaving the scene. Police learned from witnesses that an unknown number of African-American men were fired shots from this vehicle. Police believe that one or more of the perpetrators in the car may have been shot during the incident.
