New Orleans, La. - Voters wishing to cast their ballots for the November 6th election can head to the polls now. Early voting runs through October 30th across the state.
On the first day of early voting, long lines awaited voters at City Hall.
Orleans Parish Registrar of Voters Sandra Wilson said her office has streamlined the process since the last presidential election. She adds it helps if voters know the ballot before they arrive.
"This is a lengthy ballot, so the challenge is for the voter to vote in three minutes," said Wilson.
In New Orleans there are three early voting locations. You can cast your ballot at City Hall, where they urge you to take advantage of free parking in Garage #6 of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. For those who live on the West Bank, you can vote at the Algiers Courthouse in room 105. The third early voting site is at the Voting Machine Warehouse on Chef Menteur in New Orleans East.
Early voting hours in all parishes around the state will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. everyday except Sunday.
