Jefferson Parish deputies arrested four adults and a juvenile after a midday altercation at Higgins High School in Marrero.
FOX 8 News received this news release from the Sheriff's Office Wednesday afternoon:
Around 12:00 noon today, Higgins High School Police On Campus officer Ronald Bodenheimer was notified by Higgins school officials of a group of individuals who entered the school property without authorization and became involved in an altercation with faculty members there.
Officer Bodenheimer learned the group of individuals involved in the altercation were at the school on behalf of a student who claimed he was going to be involved in an altercation with other students at Higgins. Bodenheimer confronted the group as they continued exhibiting threats against school faculty members. He ordered the group to leave the school grounds, however, they refused. It was at that time Kiwana Dubard, mother of the 16 year-old student in question, along with additional family members and friends continued their resistance to leave the school property, thus, a brief struggle ensued resulting in their arrest. There were no injuries associated with this incident.

Kiwana Dubard, B/F, 32, of 536 Emile Street in Bridge City
Charged with Interfering with an Educational Facility, Remaining after being Forbidden, and Resisting Arrest. She was also booked on an outstanding Traffic Attachment. Booked at JPCC
Varnise Dubard, B/F, 48, of 536 Emile Street in Bridge City
Charged with Interfering with an Educational Facility, Remaining after being Forbidden, and Resisting Arrest. Booked at JPCC
Warren Dubard, B/M, 21, of 536 Emile Street in Bridge City
Charged with Interfering with an Educational Facility, Remaining after being Forbidden, and Resisting Arrest. Booked at JPCC
Juvenile, B/M, 16, of Bridge City
Charged with Interfering with an Educational Facility, Remaining after being Forbidden, and Resisting Arrest. Booked at Rivarde Detention Center
Nickie Jones, B/F, 30, of 441 Poe Street in Westwego
Charged with Interfering with an Educational Facility, Remaining after being Forbidden, and Resisting Arrest, along with Simple
Battery on a School Teacher. Booked at JPCC
