Home invasion suspect pleads guilty to Metairie attack

Gretna, La. - A Metairie man acquitted in three murders five years ago pleads guilty in a home invasion.

30-year-old Troy Derosa was charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated burglary and simple battery following an attack in June.

Prosecutors say he hid in the garage of a home on Cleary Avenue then attacked a man on his way to work.

The victim's elderly mother then beat Derosa with an object inside the garage.

Derosa received 12 years behind bars.
