Houma, LA. - A 50-year-old woman is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend at a bar Wednesday night in Houma. The 58-year-old man showed up at Terrebonne General Medical around 10 PM with a stab wound to his chest. During an investigation, Houma Police detectives learned that the victim had been involved in a fight with Etta James at the Phase One Lounge on Main Street.
Police say during the fight at the lounge, James brandished a knife, then stabbed the victim in the chest. Detectives located James the next day at her home in Houma, where she was taken into custody without incident. She was arrested for one count of Attempted Second Degree Murder, as well as an outstanding warrant over an earlier domestic dispute. James was brought to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where she was booked. Her boyfriend remains in the hospital, still listed in critical condition.
