FOX 8 News received this press release from the City of New Orleans Monday evening:
NEW ORLEANS, LA—Today, the Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice to New Orleans residents.
On Wednesday, November 14th and Friday, November 16th, a production company will be filming an action sequence in the Seventh Ward. The 1400-1500 block of St. Bernard Avenue and the 1500-1600 block of North Robertson Street will be closed to through traffic from approximately 8pm to 2am.
This filming will involve simulated gunfire, a controlled fire and some explosions. Uniformed officers and fire personnel will be on hand to ensure safety.
Film New Orleans assists productions with the City's permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.
As of the beginning of November, New Orleans has hosted 51 tax credit film projects (TV, films and commercials with budgets over $300,000), with spending estimated at $598 million. In 2011, the City hosted 46 tax credit projects with $544 million in direct spending.
