National anthem ban reversed

Fox News Fox News

(Fox News) - The national anthem will be played at high school hockey games in central and western Pennsylvania.

The state's Interscholastic Hockey League Commissioner reversed a decision to ban it, after a major backlash.

Ed Sam says he received over 4,000 emails and phone calls from across the country.

"I made a mistake," said Sam. "It is something that touches home with a lot of people."

Previously, Sam said that playing the national anthem took time away from the game, which costs money since the league has to rent the ice.

Now he's decided the anthem will become "a part of our games. "

Sam says, "We're proud to do it, and that's what we're going to do."
