JPSO investigates deadly shooting in Gretna

Gretna, La. -

Jefferson Parish deputies are investigating a deadly shooting Friday evening in Gretna.

FOX 8 News received this press release from JPSO Friday night:

Sheriff Newell Normand reports around 8 o'clock Friday night our deputies responded to shots fired near North Carlisle Drive and Wall Blvd., in unincorporated Gretna. Once at the scene they found an unidentified black male unresponsive in the driver's seat.

The blue Nissan Sentra had come to a stop in the 2700 block of North Carlisle. According to witnesses the  Sentra was traveling south on Wall when a darker colored vehicle pulled next to it. The person inside started shooting hitting the victim once. The victim was transported to University Hospital in New Orleans where he was pronounced dead.
