New Orleans, La. -
It's a big day for the city as part of New Orleans history is restored. The popular coffee shop Morning Call opened its doors Tuesday morning in City Park's Casino Building.
In 1870, the coffee shop known for its cafe au lait and beignets originally opened on Decatur. After 104 years of business, the New Orleans Morning Call shut down.
Mayor Landrieu spoke to the importance of the shop's opening, saying, "When you have an iconic brand like Morning Call actually come back to the city of New Orleans in the middle of City Park, which has undergone a really dramatic transformation, it really speaks volumes to how much fun people are having in the city."
City Park's Morning Call will be open 24-seven.
