La. farmers ask for more storm protection

Terrebonne Parish, La. - Louisiana farmers want flood protection planners to take farmland into account as they plan future projects.

Researchers with LSU AgCenter think Hurricane Isaac caused nearly $100 million worth of damage to Louisiana crops.

The American Sugar Cane League has a request out to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, asking them for better protection from flooding.   The league is especially concerned because recent storms have flooded fields not normally impacted by storm surge.
