BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU's chief financial officer will be leaving the state's flagship university to take a similar position at the University of Kentucky.
The president of the University of Kentucky, Eli Capilouto, announced Tuesday that Eric Monday will become UK's executive vice president for finance and administration.
Monday held the same title at LSU, where he oversaw budget issues, accounting, human resources and property management. He will start his new, $350,000-a-year job by January. In a statement, he said the move was a "tremendous career opportunity that was best for me and my family."
Monday, who had worked in various roles at LSU for 15 years, is leaving the campus amid a university system restructuring that will reshape campus leadership and amid worries about a new round of university budget cuts.
