New Orleans, La.- A man convicted of randomly murdering a woman inside Pal's lounge in 2007 is sentenced to life in prison.
Judge Karen Herman sentenced Eric Traczyk to life without the possibility of parole for the stabbing death of Nia Robertson.
During the trial, the bar owner described how Traczyk got up from the table where he had been sitting and started trying to stab people. He cut one man then made his way down the bar to the 28-year-old Robertson and slashed her throat.
The victim was a New Orleans native who graduated from Clark Atlanta University, received a graduate degree from Loyola then went to work for the Road Home Program.
The jury rejected Traczyk's insanity defense and convicted him of first degree murder.
