Harvey, La. - Jefferson Parish deputies are combing an area along Manhattan Boulevard for a man who escaped from custody at the detectives bureau.

Investigators had taken Mitchell in for questioning about a robbery at 2349 Alex Kornman in Harvey around 1am.

Police say he was handcuffed in an interview room when he disappeared. Investigators found one of the cuffs still attached to the floor plate.
