Metairie, La. - Jefferson Parish deputies have arrested two men and are searching for a third in connection with a robbery at a Metairie bar. Sheriff Newell Normand says three masked men walked into the Turtle Bar at 8001 Karen Street Monday night just after 7 PM. At least two of the men were armed with handguns. They reportedly robbed two customers and a barmaid, then ran outside and jumped into a car.
One of the customers inside the bar tried to chase after them, but was only able to get a number on a temporary license plate on the get-away car. Members of the Robbery Section of JPSO researched the temporary license plate number and identified a possible suspect, 18-year-old Daniel Shaw. After deputies caught up with Shaw and questioned him, Shaw reportedly confessed to being the driver of the getaway car. Shaw also reportedly provided more information which led to two other suspects in the case.
21-year-old Henry Chairs has since been arrested and charged with three counts of armed robbery. An arrest warrant is now out for 21-year-old Lance McIntyre, aka Lance Gregoire of Calhoun Street in Metairie.
