Peter Pretorius, founder and CEO of Joint Aid Management (JAM International) has put out a call for $100,000 in donations during the holiday season to help him feed and educate 2,000 African children.

Washington DC (PRWEB) December 06, 2012

Joint Aid Management (JAM) is a South African founded registered non-profit, Christian humanitarian relief and development organization with 28 years of experience in relief and sustainable development.

“We are happy to report exciting things are happening for the more than 750,000 children and their families in our programs in Angola, Mozambique, South Sudan and South Africa,” said Peter Pretorius

Previously the student population of an Angola school years ago had only 200 students, 26 of which were girls. Parents didn’t want their children expending energy unnecessarily walking long distances to school when there was little food available to replenish the child’s energy level. This school had one thing going for it-a school-feeding program implemented by JAM. Today this school has over 2,000 students - 846 of them girls.

“Parents now see value beyond just the meals that are provided. With food no longer a concern, these children have been able to concentrate more on their studies and they now have a reason to attend school,” states Pretorius.

Pretorius is calling for help making a difference for 2,000 children by raising at least $100,000 by December 31st. Two school children in Sub-Saharan Africa can be educated and fed for a while year for only $100, of which 100% will go toward school feeding.

JAM's programs focus on nutritional feeding, school feeding, assistance to orphans and vulnerable children, the provision of water and sanitation, as well as skills development, community training on agricultural development, income generation projects and HIV/AIDS programming. JAM strongly believes that without education, there can be no development. Effective education is only attained through the quality of schooling and most importantly, adequate nutrition, which allows a child to effectively focus, retain, and apply what is being learned. JAM currently assists more than 751,000 children through nutritional feeding programs, health and social welfare programs.
