New Orleans, La.– Police are asking the public's assistance in locating 23-year-old Rickey Walker Jr. who was last seen on Tuesday at about 4 a.m. inside of his mother's vehicle in the 7500 block of Dwyer Road.

Police say Walker and his mother were involved in a verbal altercation inside of her vehicle when Walker exited the vehicle very abruptly and began to walk on foot heading towards Read Boulevard.

Walker does not have a history of mental illness, but his mother believes he might harm himself. This is the first time he has gone missing and has not been seen or heard from.

Investigators describe Walker as an African American male, about 5'6" tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a grey long sleeve t-shirt, unknown color pants and work boots.

Anyone with information on Walker's whereabouts is asked to call the New Orleans Police Department at 821-2222.
