New Orleans, La. -

Hundreds of people gathered at Southport Hall in New Orleans Wednesday night for a concert benefiting the families of four St. John deputies. Two deputies were killed in a series of shootings over the summer while two others were wounded.

Four bands performed for free at the concert attended by 900 people. All proceeds from tickets sales went directly to the four victims' families.

In August, Deputy Michael Scott Boyington was wounded in a shooting.  A short time later while investigating that shooting, three other deputies were ambushed and fired upon. Deputies Brandon Nielson and Jeremy Triche were killed, while Deputy Jason Triche was seriously wounded.

Both Brandon and Jeremy's mothers attended Wednesday night's concert. They say they are overwhelmed at the support that's been given to their families. They say the support is especially needed during this holiday season.

Concert goers tell FOX 8 they will continue to support the families, whether it be through future benefit concerts or in some other fashion.  The support, they say, will continue for years to come.
