Slidell, La.- The St. Tammany Parish Sherriff's Office are looking for 22-year-old Dwight Travis Ambo for the murder of Sherman Deas around 2 a.m. Sunday.
An arrest warrant was issued for Ambo on one count of second degree murder.
Investigators have conducted dozens of interviews during the course of this investigation and police say some of the individuals interviewed are believed to be actively aiding Ambo's efforts to elude capture.
"Anyone we find helping to hide Dwight Ambo or otherwise obstructing our investigation into this homicide will be arrested and put in jail for accessory to murder after the fact and obstruction of justice," said St. Tammany Parish Sherriff Jack Strain.
Strain also warns those individuals that the maximum penalty for obstruction of justice is forty years at hard labor and a $100,000 fine. In addition, the maximum penalty for accessory after the fact is five years at hard labor and a $500 fine.
Investigators recently located Ambo's car and phone at a residence in New Orleans.
Although Ambo resides in the Slidell area, he also has known connections to the New Orleans area as well as Hancock County, Mississippi including the Biloxi and Gulfport area.
Anyone with information about Ambo's whereabouts is urged to call 9-1-1 or CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111.
