Cab driver fatally shot during robbery Sunday

New Orleans, La. - New Orleans police are investigating the fatal shooting of a Jefferson Parish cab driver. 

Police say 56-year-old Joseph Wilfred was found shot to death is his taxi shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of South Claiborne Ave. and Hollygrove St.

Officers found Wilfred shot to death inside his Star Cab, which had stalled near the intersection when it apparently struck a construction barrier. 

This shooting is still under investigation, but police believe the motive behind the killing was robbery. 

Anyone with any information on this murder is urged to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111.
