Police investigators are looking for clues in a homicide case in Treme Monday afternoon.
FOX 8 News received this press release from NOPD Monday afternoon:
Homicide Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of an unidentified man. The Incident occurred shortly before 3pm in the 2300 block of Dumaine Street. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members.
"The victim was found on the sidewalk. He'd been shot multiple times and died on the scene." A handgun was recovered on the scene.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
Homicide Detective Travis Ward is in charge of the investigation.
