Police investigate Algiers playground robbery

New Orleans, La.- Police are looking for a man who may have information about a simple robbery that occurred in Norman Playground located in the 3200 block of Eton Street in Algiers.

It happened Tuesday around 1:30 p.m.

Investigators say a 13-year-old male was at the playground with a friend as they were approached by a young female that joined in a game of basketball as a male friend of hers watched.

After the short game of basketball, the young female's male friend grabbed the 13-year-old male's phone and overpowered him taking his phone.  Both suspects fled the park.

The suspects are described as an African-American man in his twenties and an African-American female approximately 15 to 16 years of age.

Police say this man is not a suspect, just a person detectives would like to speak with that may have information about the robbery.

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is urged to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111.
