FOX 8 News received this news release from the Thibodaux Police Department Friday evening:

Thibodaux Chief of Police Scott Silverii announced the arrest of Mark Anthony Ledet (W/M, 40, 9xx Brulle Guillot Road) for Attempted Theft and Burglary of a Pharmacy with bonds totaling $102,500.

Monday evening, December 24, around 10:00 Thibodaux Police responded to a pharmacy in the 100 block of North Canal Boulevard. An unidentified white male jumped the counter and tried to get away with prescription medication, but fled the store empty handed after being foiled by employees.

Around two hours later, Thibodaux Police responded to an alarm at a pharmacy in the 200 Block of North Canal Boulevard. Police learned through video footage that a white male with a similar description from earlier gained access into the pharmacy, and stole prescription medication. After an investigation, the unknown male was identified as Mark Ledet.

Mark Ledet was taken into custody at the Thibodaux Police Department. He was then transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of bonds.

Thibodaux police posted a video on YouTube of Ledet being brought to the detention center -- you can view that in the window above this report.
