City issues New Year's Eve traffic advisory

New Orleans, La. – In preparation for the 2013 New Year's Eve celebration, the City of New Orleans warns motorists of road closures near Jackson Square scheduled for Monday, December 31.

Decatur St. will be limited to one lane of traffic each way beginning at 8:00 a.m. on New Year's Eve from Dumaine St. to St. Louis St. Decatur St. from Wilkinson St. to Madison St. will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 7:00 p.m. through 2:00 a.m. New Year's Day.

The closures are in preparation for the 2013 NOLA New Year's Eve concert and countdown celebration in front of Jackson Square.

Parking enforcement personnel will be issuing citations for illegal parking.

Priceline.com recently ranked New Orleans second on its list of 50 top spots to ring in the New Year. New Orleans came in behind only New York.
