The Kevin Draggoo family shows their continuing support of the arts, music and education in 2012 with two generous donations to the East Lansing Educational Foundation.
Lansing, MI (PRWEB) December 30, 2012
The Kevin Draggoo family continues to provide substantial support for the arts, music, and education in Lansing with two separate contributions to the East Lansing Educational Foundation (ELEF) in 2012. One gift was a $15,000 endowment they created for a high school band and the second one was a direct gift of $15,000 to the ELEF for immediate use.
The endowment created with the ELEF is named "The Draggoo Family Fund For High School Band." It is an open fund, meaning others can also contribute funding to it.
The fund creators are Kevin, Lauri, Steve and Stephanie Draggoo: Lauri plays flute, piccolo, cello and piano. Steve plays baritone, euphonium and valve trombone. Stephanie plays trumpet and piano. Kevin plays trumpet. All played in the high schools band, orchestra, marching band, jazz band and pit orchestra. Stephanie plays in the Michigan State University Concert Orchestra. Kevin also sang in vocal groups.
The Kevin Draggoo Family has become the first platinum sponsors for the East Lansing Educational Foundation's "Business Partners in Education" with a $15,000 commitment.
“We know that music is an important component in the development of bright, balanced, open intelligence individuals with well-rounded personalities. In addition to playing instruments, both of our children, Steve and Stephanie, have worked at the Michigan State University Wharton Center for many years. We have watched them grow into happy, talented people and seen how music and the arts have positively contributed to their lives. We want to help others have this same experience,” says Kevin Draggoo, CPF, CRPC, and Senior Vice President Wealth Management Merrill Lynch.
These donations join other contributions of $100,000 to help support the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, $100,000 in a deferred gift endowment they created to promote and foster volunteerism at the Wharton Center for the Performing Arts and many hours of volunteer work.
