Washington, D.C. - The Federal Trade Commission wants the public to help come up with ideas to end harassing robocalls to cell phones and land lines. The FTC is running a contest for the best ideas.
Robocalls are pre-recorded phone messages delivered to a large number of people.
The winning submission gets $50,000 and wins a trip to Washington, D.C. so he/she can present the idea.
The FTC has already received 230 submissions.
The deadline to enter the contest is 5:00 p.m. Eastern on January 17, 2013. The winner will be announced on April 15, 2013.
