North Shore home destroyed by overnight fire

Covington, La. - A North Shore family is homeless after an overnight fire destroyed their home.

St. Tammany Fire District 12 responded to the fire around 4:30am at 76021 Carol Drive in the Lake Ramsey community just north of Covington.

No one was home at the time of the blaze.  The homeowner, Regina Smith, was at work when the fire broke out but returned to the residence after the scene was under control.  Two other family members, 22 and 2, also reside in the home but were away. 

The Red Cross was notified and will be assisting the family.
