Residents escape burning house fire in Slidell


Slidell, La. - Residents in Slidell were able to escape their home, following an early morning blaze in the Kingspoint subdivision. St. Tammany Fire District #1 were called to a home at 134 Foxbriar Street around 3 AM Monday morning. Firefighters arrived on the scene in a little over 6 minutes to find smoke and flames billowing from a 1600 square foot single story residence.  

One of the residents was awoken by a popping sound and discovered the fire in a bedroom. That resident was able to alert others, who all safely evacuated the home. 

The house received heavy fire damage to one bedroom and moderate smoke damage throughout the rest of the home. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 25 minutes of arriving on the scene.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time. No injuries were reported.
