New Orleans, La. – With New Orleans ample supply of historic properties, home buyers who are willing to take on a house in need of renovation have a lot of options.
But, the prospect of renovation can be intimidating if you've never done it.
The Preservation Resource Center will hold a series of workshops designed to guide first time renovators around the pitfalls.
The workshops will be held January 16th & 23rd at the Preservation Resource Center on Tchoupitoulas from 6:00-8:30 p.m. The course is the first of a three part series that will analyze the pros and cons of renovating, help the home buyer select the project that fits their budget and explain various financing options, including Federal 203(k) renovation loans.
The cost for the workshop is $35 for PRC Members, $40 for non-members or $50 for a household.
Pre-registration is required. Contact Suzanne Blaum at sblaum@prcno.org or call 504-636-3399. You can find out more about the resources offered to homeowners and renovators at prcno.org.
