Garyville, La. - The St. John Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect they say shot and killed another man Sunday night.
St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre said around 8pm, deputies responded to the 200 block of Little Hope Street in Garyville for a reported shooting. When deputies arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds to his torso.
He was taken to River Parish Hospital for treatment and transferred to a New Orleans area hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
The victim was identified as 29 year-old Michael Lee of Garyville.
Police say that Lee and the suspect, identified as 18 year-old Tevin Bolden, engaged in a verbal altercation while gambling. During the argument, Bolden produced a gun and fired it several times striking Lee.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Bolden for second degree murder, attempted second degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, and illegal use of a weapon.
Bolden remains at large. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Tevin Bolden is encouraged to call St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office Detectives at 985-652-6338 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
