NOPD seeks person of interest in murder case

New Orleans, La. -

Police need your help to find a person of interest as they investigate a shooting death on Louisiana Avenue last week.

It happened around 1:57 Monday morning, Dec. 31 in the Freret area near Central City. 

"Lester Adams was located by Second District Officers in the 2900 block of Louisiana Avenue suffering from multiple gunshot wounds," reads a brief statement from NOPD.  "The subject... was described by witnesses as firing a handgun at the victim and striking him several times."

Investigators describe the person of interest as an "Unknown black male, well dressed, wearing white pants and light colored polo shirt. The baseball cap and sneakers worn by the suspect were similar to the 'Miami Dolphins' team color pattern of navy blue, aqua green, white, and orange."
