FOX 8 News received this press release from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office Monday afternoon:
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of a 19-year-old South Lafourche man for the forcible rape of a young adult woman. Detectives arrested Jaydon Galliano (W/M, D.O.B. 12/17/93) of 2xx West 151st Street in Galliano on Friday, January 4 following an investigation into the matter.
Through investigation, deputies learned the woman was at Galliano's residence on the evening of Tuesday, January 1. At around midnight, detectives learned Galliano allegedly forced the woman into his bedroom and kept her there against her will. When the victim told Galliano she wanted to leave, Galliano advised her that he had a gun in drawer in the room and threatened to use it on her and her family. Galliano allegedly forced the woman to have sexual intercourse against her will. He allowed the woman to leave for work on the morning of Wednesday, January 2, and she reported the incident to deputies on that date.
Following an investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Galliano and made contact with him on January 4. Galliano was arrested on warrants for forcible rape (including sodomy) and false imprisonment while armed with a dangerous weapon. He was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux where he is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
Due to the nature of the allegations, further information regarding this case, including the victim's identity, is being withheld.
